It seems pretty good value - 2 single coil pickups, one 'humbucker', which I'm told makes a pretty decent distortion sound. Plus it's only about 100 quid including postage.
David says I can have his old amp for like 20 quid, which is really cool 'cos then I can just buy the guitar on its own. (Don't have to pay something stupid for postage)
I first learned the guitar like 8 years ago, but gave up after a year - I wish I hadn't.
So I'm pretty much a beginner again.
I cant wait to get playing. ^-^ Current Mood:excited
Ok that is pretty crazy. Before the exams I thought I might possibly scrape a B for English, if I thought I did really well of course. But after the exam I thought I did totally crap! I completely messed up the second essay and was sure I was going to fail.
The rest of them were pretty much predictable 'cept from Chemistry. My teacher said I could get an A, but am still pretty darn pleased with a B.
06:55 pm - Hand burndinating powerball. In the instruction booklet of a powerball it says: Do not touch the ball while it is spinning, at it will burn.
I've done it quite a few times and it didn't really hurt that bad. Well, it didn't actually burn the skin anyways.
That is until it happened while spinning at 10,000 rpm!!
Imagine something spinning really fast. Then imagine something spinning ten times faster than you just imagined. Something spinning much faster than a car engine, and a tiny gap between this and a solid piece of polycarbonate. Then imagine having part of your palm jammed in this gap and stopping the ball totally in a fraction of a second.
It hurts bad. =/ Current Mood:burndinated Current Music: Fireproof - Pillar
07:20 pm - S6 sucks. Mostly. Well I havent written to this dang thing in ages so I think I'll have another rant...
Ok as I suspected the 'responsibilities' of being the oldest in school is kinda crap. Firstly we must take part in two 'committees' which involve running some aspect of the school. I'm taking end of year activities and the stage/radio committee .
I'm hoping activities shouldn't be too bad. Our first meeting had the loudest, most 'vocal' people having their opinions heard, leaving the more reserved types (me) to sit in silence. I really don't have a problem with this - I'm happy to sit and nod politely when people are expressing their unfeasible ideas.
As for actual sixth year I've been pretty bored. I'm only taking three subjects (big mistake...) which leaves me with about 10 free periods a week. This might seem kinda cool but there is nothing to do. I could loaf around on the stage but I prefer the library - geek. I'd much rather sit at a computer than have a conversation with my fellow peers about who got wasted the most at last weekends mart dance.
I need some more homework to do! Ok I never thought I would say that. *slaps face*
In other news I started a new claymation. Here's the old one first.
I decided it would be kinda dull to make another one where some orange guy does some simple dance moves, so I decided to be a bit more adventurous. Here's one frame as a sneak peak:
Its pretty complicated and could take some time... Current Mood:bored
12:12 pm - Darn it... My mum has learned how to turn off my computer.
ok so at first I thought this wouldn't be a problem. Just turn it back on.
but then after I've been away from my room for about five minutes, the freakin computers turned off again!
She says that "computers ruin peoples lives" For once I agree with her, but I really don't think I spend much time on my computer.
I need to find a way to stop her from just switching it off.
Unplug the mouse? She isn't advanced enough to use the keyboard, and I think shes too scared to just unplug it from the wall. However these are just speculations.
Wait a sec, she may even know how to get to this blog...
Oh crap...
In other news I did kinda crap in my English exam yesterday. The close reading was pretty good, but my second essay was c.r.a.p.
I would really like to fell excited about never having to another stupid essay on some pointless poem, but I don't really have any feelings about it. I suppose I feel more relived If I have to describe it.
Physics is my next Exam, on wednesday. I should probably start revising. Current Mood:relived, slightly Current Music: electron gun leakage
07:58 pm - Power to the max! Having realised that I'm an utter weakling when it comes to strength, (no really, I have arms like twigs) I've decided to do something about it.
And no, I haven't decided to go to the Gym, (Even though I get it for free) that would make far too much sense.
So how then? I hear you cry. Well I've bought this thing:
And how does this amazing little globe of magic make me stronger? By the amazing gyroscopic pulling power while spinning it.
The ball comes alive with forces, furiously thrashing and jerking as your arm and wrist try to keep it in control, spinning it faster and faster until you have it up to almost 15,000rpm and it's exerting about 40lbs of pressure on your limbs at a speed of 250 revolutions per second - no batteries, just pure gyroscopic power
- Easier said than done! My best score yet is 9,406rpm.
It works pretty well, and is very addictive, so for excessive compulsives like me, it's a must have!
There's even a world record for fastest RPM. Check it out here
05:03 pm - Mixed feelings Ok I seem to have neglected this thing...
Well these holidays seem to have gone as quickly as any other. I havent really done anything worthwhile...
I'm not exactly impressed with the amount of revision I've done either... How can teachers expect us to do revision if they keep giving us more freakin homework! "But homework is revision" Yeah right...
Ok enough ranting. Seriously though. Thats all I seem to be using this thing for. I really need to lighten up...
I'm tired of complaining.
In other news I got a new PSP game the other day. I decided this time to go for a platformer in the form of Daxter. I havent had the experience of past Jak & Daxter titles but after a trusty Gamespot review of 9.1 I decided it was worth a try. I have to say its fulfilled my expectations although it does seem a little short (49% complete already).
Well I've run out of mildly interesting stuff to say, so I'm going to finish my essay... yay =/
Darn it I've started complaining again...
